The Maryland Wedding Professionals Association and its members are part of a special group of wedding vendors who support and provide a professional business ethic.Our purpose is to provide clients a comprehensive resource of highly respected wedding vendors.
MWPA members are exceptional businesses in the Maryland Wedding/Event industry who have demonstrated ethical business practices and exhibit a high degree of professionalism in business relationships. Each vendor listed in our Members Directory and have passed a formal requirement criteria and have pledged to follow a strict code of ethics. Any MWPA association member failing to meet these requirements or adhere to the Association's code of ethics will default their membership with the Maryland Wedding Professionals Association. We encourage feedback from our clients with the objective of always striving to exceed expectations. Make sure your vendor displays our symbol of excellence.
Our Goals
The Maryland Wedding Professional Association (MWPA) and its vendors pledge to adhere to the following code of ethics as a condition of their membership.
As a member of the Maryland Wedding Professional Association, I pledge to abide by the membership code of ethics which embraces honesty, integrity, and quality service or forfeit all my rights and privileges associated with my association in the MWPA.
I also pledge to comply with the standards, rules, duties and goals of the MWPA.
I will treat my customers with honesty, integrity, professionalism and fairness in the course of our contractual relationship.
I will always treat members of the MWPA and other wedding vendors with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
I will perform the duties for which I am enlisted to the best of my ability.
I will always accurately represent my qualifications to my customers.
I will not accept a contract for services of which I am not qualified to perform.
I will recommend other members of the MWPA for services which I do not perform or can not currently perform.
I will accurately represent the pricing and content of services.
I will always be available to answer questions and ensure the client understands the services that I will be providing.
I will always engage in fair business practices with clients and vendors without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, sex or country of origin or physical disability.

Our Goals
- To encourage a Standard of Excellence in the performance of services. All clients can be reassured that they have chosen a vendor of the highest quality to perform services for their wedding or event.
- To help Promote Exceptional Wedding Vendors in the Maryland area by recognizing their professionalism and quality service.
- To promote high Ethical Practices and a non competitive environment among vendors within the wedding service industry.
- To create a networking relationship that enhances Vendor Referrals within the association and among vendors in the wedding industry.
- To encourage respect for each member's unique talents and to work together to cultivate continued success among all association members.
- Provide wedding clients with a diverse, quality oriented membership from which to choose their vendors.
- Provide networking opportunities through the organizational membership.
- Promote the association and its role in selecting quality vendors.
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics to ensure the quality, professionalism and integrity of our membership.
- Serve as a conduit for communication within the Maryland wedding community.
- Provide and promote an on-line directory of our membership.
- Continually update and evaluate our vendors to assure quality and integrity within our membership.
